Many people tend to worry when they discover that the need to have their computer repaired. This is because the tendency is to think that the repairs are going to cost a great deal of money. The truth of the matter is, however, that there are some things you need to know that can save you quite a deal.
Fix It Yourself
Some people consider themselves very technically savvy. If you are such a person, you should know that you can do many basic computer repair yourself instead of taking your computer to a shop or calling a repair specialist. Thanks to the Internet, there are many great tutorials that can walk you through the process of installing a new hard drive or creating a home entertainment system accessible through your computer is possible with these tutorials. And the best part is they’re free.
Cut the Power
Always make sure that your computer is turned off and unplugged from the power source. This may seem like a small deal but it is very important when it comes to working on components of the hardware system. There should be no potential for electric shock once you power everything down. This also ensures that no unsaved work is lost as the computer will most likely prompt you to save everything before you shut down.
Know Your Limitations
You don’t want just enough rope to hang yourself and you should attempt a computer repair that requires a sophisticated degree of work and technological knowhow that should be left to the professionals. Remember that your computer is an advanced piece of equipment that must be put together properly or it will not work and it can pose an electrical hazard to anyone who uses it.
Get a Good Estimate
When you need the roof repaired on your home, you don’t just pick a roofing company and call them out to fix it. Chances are, you make many phone calls and you ask for the companies to come out and give you an estimate on what it will cost. The same is true when it comes to getting quality computer repair estimates. Don’t trust your repairs to just one estimate. Get several estimates, compare them and go through a process of elimination until you come up with a really good one.
Read the Warranty
If you have a newer computer, you should read the warranty to see if certain repairs are covered. You should also be familiar with what isn’t covered as well as what coverage you may lose if you attempt to fix the computer yourself or don’t have it fixed through an authorized representative of the manufacturer. Some computer repair can be done by you, other repairs cannot.
What Happened
You need to be able to describe what you were doing when your computer broke. You may also be asked what the computer did, such as if it sparked or smoked or shut down without warning. All of these things are important to getting the proper computer repair.

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities you come across in Europe. It is a very popular destination for tourists, however, it can also be dangerous if you are not careful. I’ve lived in Prague for 2 years while studying so I feel confident that I can give you some advice and hopefully save you some money and trouble.
Language
The main language is Czech, many people in Prague speak German and these days a lot of young people can speak English since its being taught in schools.
However, it is really appreciated by locals if you can spit out a few Czech sentences. Look up some common Czech phrases on the web or get a book. Don’t try to just yell at them in English and expect that they will be cooperative.
Driving a car
Unless you absolutely love using maps and driving do not drive in Prague. It is a very old city, the streets are usually one way and it is being repaired all the time so the rules keep changing pretty much every day. I used to drive there but only routes which I knew 100%… or at least 90% and I know many locals just would not drive there.
The other problem is parking in Prague. After the fall of communism, the amount of cars in Prague doubled or tripled (I’m not sure exactly) but the point is that it is hard to park on the streets and expensive in car parks. Also if you just park your car where you are not supposed to, the local city police will clamp your car or tow it away. Either way it is not much fun dealing with them.
If you must drive, make sure you organize your parking with the hotel or motel or whatever and then take public transport to get yourself around.
Public transport
If you can, avoid using taxis. There are signs at the airport to use only their taxis. It is there for a very good reason. Unfortunately local taxi drivers have a bad habit of overcharging. I’ve heard a story of a tourist being charged $US 400 for taking a taxi from the bottom of Wenceslas Square to the top (you could walk it in about 10 minutes).
If you must take a taxi, use only authorized taxis and make sure the meter is turned on. Also it is better to agree on a fee before.
The best way I found is to use the local underground (Metro). It is very cheap, fast and gets you to most places you would want to go.
Where to eat & drink
Going to a restaurant in the heart of Prague can be expensive even by western standards. Try to avoid those restaurants and cafes in the main tourist areas, instead ask locals where there is a good restaurant with local cuisine or track a few hundred meters away from the main tourist tracks. You will find really good restaurants with a fraction of the cost.
Money
Even though Czech is now a member of EU they still use crowns. You will need to have some cash as most small business still operate on cash basis and I would not just give them my credit card. If you want to use a credit card, make sure that the shop/restaurant/hotel or whatever is a reputable business. There are some problems with credit card fraud.
I’ve found that the best exchange rate you can get is to use your debit card and withdraw money from local ATM’s. Just make sure you are in a well guarded area when you make a withdraw.
Don’t ever change money with people on the street.
Crime
Prague’s worst problem are petty thieves. Always make sure you close all your bags, don’t have your money or passport in back pocket and be on alert. I would also suggest to reduce the amount of jewelery you put on. Thieves usually concentrate in main tourist areas and work in teams. So even if you get the guy who just took your wallet he usually manages to pass it onto his team mate. Also never leave valuables in a car on unattended bags. When leaving hotel room always make sure to lock it.
The other problem is prostitution. After 10PM main tourist areas are lined with girls happy to see you. Although prostitution is illegal, the local police turn blind eye. Do not pickup any girls from the streets especially if they are not Czechs, it can be very dangerous. You could end up without any money and maybe with some bonus disease.

People who travel to the city of Tagaytay for the first time are awed by the beauty of the surrounding hills and mountains, and the unique topography of Taal Lake and its volcano. Tagaytay City is an hour and a half’s drive south of Manila, and it is the usual destination of families and friends who want to get away from the city even for just a day or two.
Getting there is relatively easy – driving a car, one would pass through the freeway and exit at Santa Rosa, then pass through rolling valleys dotted with hundreds of pineapple orchards alongside wooden furniture and handicraft shops. Visitors know when they are nearing Tagaytay when they see the first fruit stands lined up along the sides of the road. Tagaytay is famous for its fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants, including mangosteen, a round, purple fruit with luscious pulpy white flesh that is slightly tart and sweet, and its plump bananas, sweet mangoes, and of course, juicy pineapples.
Another way visitors will know that they have reached the outskirts of Tagaytay is when the air begins to become cooler and balmier. This air is so different from the air in the city, that even a whiff of its freshness is enough to rejuvenate visitors.
A whole day trip to Tagaytay offers plenty of relaxation and dining opportunities for visitors, although it is highly recommended to stay overnight in one of its many hotels, bed and breakfasts, and inns. Because of Tagaytay’s proximity to Manila, it has also become a popular place for locals and foreigners to buy property for investment or vacation houses. Tagaytay actually started out with many private vacation homes overlooking the peaceful lake and volcano, and just expanded into the ultimate mini-vacation destination it is now.
For a change, why not stay at a Tagaytay house for rent? Since there are many vacation homes which are not occupied through most of the year, many vacation house owners have decided to offer their private homes to vacationers. These private homes are generally quite comfortable and fully-equipped with modern amenities such as bathrooms with hot and cold showers, kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, and stoves, air conditioning units in each room, and the like. Most vacation houses for rent in Tagaytay have a view of the famous lake, although there are some that are located more inland, but which also have a generous view of the surrounding countryside.
Renting a house instead of staying in a Tagaytay hotel definitely has its advantages. Below is a list of reasons why it would be a good idea to rent a house:
Cost
The cost of renting a house is infinitely less than that of staying in a hotel or inn, especially if there are more than 10 people in a party. A house for rent in Tagaytay normally starts from 5,000 pesos a night for a two- to three-bedroom unit with kitchen and bath area plus balcony, to more than 10,000 a night for a house with multiple bedrooms, a loft, complete amenities, and its very own private garden and balcony overlooking the lake. Compared to hotels with room prices ranging from 1,500 to 5,000 pesos a night for a standard room for only two people, renting a house is a big ease on the budget.
Convenience
Staying in a house offers guests the opportunity to relax and be themselves. Staying in a hotel inhibits freedom in a way, because guests have set hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and guests have no chance to be comfortable in their clothes and outfits. Imagine staying in a hotel or inn and not being able to go out in sleepwear. It somehow defeats the idea of the purpose of a trip to Tagaytay – for some rest and relaxation. Some hotels are also quite strict with noise especially starting at 10 o’clock in the evening, so if people are planning to have a party, a hotel or inn is a definite no-no.
Meals
Tagaytay has its share of fancy restaurants and eateries, and although it’s a pleasure to sample what they have to offer, it’s also a pleasure to have one’s own barbecue and drinks on the terrace of a house for rent. Most houses for rent have facilities for a barbecue pit, and all houses have their own kitchens where guests can cook their own meals, as well as kitchenware and utensils such as pots, pans, knives, plates, forks and spoons. The Tagaytay market is a delightful place to visit because it has a very fresh meat and vegetable selection. Guests can then choose to prepare their meals at the comfort of a house, instead of relying on restaurants or hotels for the duration of their stay.
Other Amenities
Houses for rent in Tagaytay also have their own extra amenities, such as a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a game room with billiard or table tennis and board games, or balconies and terraces with tables and chairs where guests can lounge around and relax. This is perfect for whole day celebrations with friends and family, and for just taking in the view of the whole lake and volcano and basking in the fresh air.

In addition to promoting various products and services via print and online media, organizations are now planning to send and share promotional ads, event website links, and other necessary promotional items on a regular basis to the mobile phones of their customers. This new way of reaching out to masses is proving to be highly beneficial for organizations at all levels. This is because mobile marketing can deliver great results in terms of increasing the event ticket sales and, of course, the net revenues of both MNCs and small businesses. You too can resort to such mobile marketing for enhancing your event attendance rate and ticket sales.
Let’s discuss how you can market your event information through Smartphone and such other advanced mobile devices.
Send Short Message Service (SMS) Text Messages to Your Contacts
You will get the chance of sending SMSs to any number of people by just pressing the ‘Send’ key on your mobile phone. Any information, which you want to share with your present and probable customers, will be delivered instantly on their mobile phones. You will also get an SMS confirmation on the successful deliverance of the message.
Promote Your Events via a Variety of Marketing Campaigns
Mobile marketing campaigns are becoming highly popular among organizations. Businesses can easily use the mobile phones to send hundreds of promotional ads in no time. Many organizations are also using the ‘bar code technology’ to send interactive SMSs to their target audience. Mobile marketing campaigns help an organization inform people about the discounts or gift cards that it is providing for attending any of its upcoming conference or meeting. In a sense, these campaigns are highly effective in attracting people toward your event, thereby increasing tickets sale.
Immediately Send Any Valid Information or News to People
Mobile campaigns are easy to create and implement. Event organizers can create and send such campaigns through messages to recipients within seconds.
Instant Consumer Reach
Event planners no longer have to wait for days to successfully issue tickets, vouchers, and gift cards to their event registrants. You can send the soft copy of your party ticket or gift cards directly on the registrant’s Smartphone easily and in no time. Thus, mobile phones make it possible for you to reach out to all your customers 24 hours, and 365 days a year.
A Convenient way to Attract the Attention of Individuals
People can check out the text messages or ads sent on their handset at their own convenience. Just as the organizers can reach out to their customers 24X7 with this service, the consumers also have the privilege of browsing the details whenever they wish.
Response Rate is High
Mobile marketing campaigns lead to an immediate call to action, since people can check your mobile website in seconds. Moreover, mobile couponing allows a person to instantly view different codes on their mobile screen. People interested to attend a function can redeem the coupon on the spot, without the need to visit your office personally.

Although the average overall cost for a wedding these days is around $20,000, is it possible to have a great wedding and a beautiful dress for less than $3,000. I know it can be done because I found my perfect dress and had a wonderful and affordable wedding that included about 20 of our closest family and friends. One friend at the end of the evening even commented that ours was the best wedding she had ever attended. Here is how to do it:
Shop in the junior’s dress section of a department store. Like most brides, it took me forever to find my perfect dress. But when I found it, it only cost $50. Even if you don’t usually shop in the junior’s section, I recommend giving it a try. They do have a great selection of fun and fancy dresses that are perfect for either bridesmaids’ dresses or bridal gowns. There was quite a good selection of cream, white, and off-white dresses at Macy’s. The one I chose was an off-white knee-length halter-style dress. It had a diaphanous layer over a form-fitting satin dress.
Hold an outdoor wedding. It only cost about $80 to get the permit from the city to hold our beach wedding. We held it at sunset on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There was a small circular seating area at the overlook with built-in benches.
Ask a friend to officiate. Anyone can become a wedding minister through the Internet for less than the cost of dinner. We asked a good friend to officiate and we wrote our vows. It was much more intimate than asking someone who does it for a living who wouldn’t have known us as well.
Buy your flowers in bunches from a farmers’ market. We actually bought ours from Home Depot but, in retrospect, I’ve learned that you can get better deals, fresher bouquets, and local flora from your neighborhood farmers’ market. It’s usually about $5-10 for a very large bunch of gorgeous flowers. Friends sprinkled the flowers all over the ground where we took our vows and tied bunches of them to the railing near the cliff.
Ask a friend to take pictures. My sister-in-law is a professional photographer and she volunteered to take the photos. Her wedding gift to us was a beautiful wedding photo album. Several family members took video of the ceremony. One thing to remember: If you have an outdoor wedding and you want to be heard, rent speakers and microphones. Words can get drowned out by the sounds of nature.
Hire a local restaurant to cater. This will be your greatest expense and something that people will remember, so go ahead and splurge. It can be more interesting than the usual chicken-or-beef fare if you choose your favorite ethnic restaurant to do the catering. We picked a wonderful Indian restaurant that was well versed in catering. They set up a beautiful display on the beach in ornate copper warming plates. We set up a canopy earlier in the day to protect the food.
Make bonfire s’mores in lieu of wedding cake. We used bonfires and tiki torches to illuminate the beach reception so a natural dessert choice for us was s’mores! Of course, the kids especially loved the dessert and it brought out the kid in all of the adults.
Having an affordable wedding allows you to focus less on the material world and more on the reason you are gathering together for this special day. To have a wedding is nice; to begin a life with one you love is life’s greatest gift. Consider the words of George Eliot: “What greater thing is there for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life – to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?”
